Jeet Gannguli

Jeet Gannguli (pronounced [born Chandrajeet Ganguly, on 24 May 1977), is an Indian score composer of Bengali and Hindi movies and Playback Singer of Bengali Movies. He is known for his work in films such as Aashiqui 2 (2013), CityLights (2014), Rustom (2016), and Parmanu: The Story of Pokhran (2018).

 

Gannguli was born in a Kulin Bengali Brahmin family in Mumbai. He began his musical training at the age of three under the guidance of his father, Kali Ganguly, a classical musician. He later studied western classical music, jazz, and rock with jazz guitarist Carlton Kitto.

 

Gannguli made his debut as a music director in the 2006 Bengali film, "Chokher Bali". He went on to compose music for several successful Bengali films, including "Piku" (2015), "Byomkesh Bakshi" (2015), and "Kahaani 2" (2016).

 

Gannguli made his Hindi film debut in 2013 with the film "Aashiqui 2". The film's soundtrack, which featured the songs "Tum Hi Ho" and "Sunn Raha Hai" became a huge hit, and Gannguli won the Filmfare Award for Best Music Director for his work.

 

Gannguli has since composed music for several successful Hindi films, including "CityLights" (2014), "Rustom" (2016), "Parmanu: The Story of Pokhran" (2018), and "Badhaai Ho" (2018).

 

In addition to his work as a music director, Gannguli is also a playback singer. He has sung for several Bengali and Hindi films, including "Piku", "Byomkesh Bakshi", "Kahaani 2", "Aashiqui 2", "CityLights", "Rustom", "Parmanu: The Story of Pokhran", and "Badhaai Ho".

 

Gannguli has won numerous awards for his work, including four Filmfare Awards, three National Film Awards, and two IIFA Awards. He is considered to be one of the most successful and talented music directors in India.
